Aleesha Hatty

Aleesha is a young aspiring director and filmmaker. She has worked on numerous stage productions in lighting design and opperation, set design and construction and the filming of a stage production. She is currently directing ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ in her home town of Barham, whilst also completing year 11.
Aleesha has taken numerous film based classes including a screenwriting class run by Joshua Tyler (Top End Wedding) and a correspondance VET course of Live poduction and technical services. She can’t wait to share her imagination with the world and looking forward to working on an Oscar winning film!

Artist Statement
Aleesha’s work with visual arts ranges from photography and painting to film and production. Currently juggling Year 12 and all of her creative projects, Aleesha is hoping to have her first short film completed in the coming year. She has worked on numerous stage productions in lighting design and operation, set design and the filming of stage productions. She was an assistant director for her local theatre group’s production of The Emperor’s New Clothes this year while also taking a leadership role in the tech side of the show.
Aleesha is a keen photographer; the photos submitted for this showcase were a summary of her work in 2023 and are all locally based. She loves telling stories in any format, which is why there is a variety of her works in this showcase. Her script The Torniles Case is a preview of a story/film that has been in the works for quite some time; the story itself is based on a short narrative that she wrote for an english assessment and loved so much that she decided to take it further. Aleesha is open to trying any medium for art or story telling and is happy she can share some of her work with the world.
