Artist Statement
As an artist, I am drawn to the power of realism to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around us. Through the careful application of various mediums, I strive to create artworks that evoke emotion and transport viewers to specific moments in time. Alcohol ink markers are my primary tool, allowing me to create vibrant and eye-catching pieces. The fluid nature of the ink lends itself to dynamic and expressive compositions. I often use these markers to depict landscapes and cityscapes, capturing the interplay of light and shadow and the energy of urban environments.
For my animal drawings, I turn to graphite pencils. This medium allows me to achieve a high level of detail and realism, capturing the unique features and personalities of each creature. I am particularly drawn to the intricate patterns and textures found in the animal kingdom such as tigers, as they have very intricate fur creating a tougher challenge. By focusing on realistic representation, I aim to create artworks that resonate with viewers on a personal level. Each piece is a snapshot of a specific time and place, inviting the viewer to connect with the scene and reflect on their own experiences.
