Artist Statement
The work I’ve submitted is some video of recent practice I have been developing as a part of my training with FLING as well as photos from works I have participated in. The video stems from a development of practice influenced by work I’ve been doing in preparation for a performance outcome with FLING as well as movement inspired by what I have discovered independently as well as through the HORIZONS program. It also includes some choreography that I have learnt from my teachers at FLING. Movement in my body often uses lots of momentum, spiralising and work on four limbs. I enjoy movement that uses my whole body in varying ways, in the footage I have represented as much of that as possible, the movement that makes it my dancing and that I enjoy most at this point in time.
