Lochie is a passionate musician who has always been drawn to the idea of creating his own music. His love for music blossomed through his involvement in musical theatre, performing in productions like Pippin and The Little Mermaid, where he developed a deep appreciation for the performing arts. A self-taught guitarist and bassist, Lochie enjoys experimenting with sounds, often just “mucking around” to see what emerges.
Musically, Lochie is inspired by artists like Jacob Collier, whose intricate vocal harmonies fascinate him, Spacey Jane, for their simple yet evocative lyrics, and Snail Mail, whose indie rock tones resonate with his own style. He has already written and produced three singles and is eager to record an EP in the future, balancing his musical ambitions with full-time studies as he pursues a degree in Nursing.

Artist Statement
‘Arms’ is a song about being open to being vulnerable. I feel like it reflects the deep desire we have to be heard, and how sometimes, it’s the people we love the most who reassurance us that we have everything we need to feel safe, loved and supported. I wrote the song back in 2022, and didn’t release it on streaming platforms until March 2024, because I felt that it was the most personal song that I had written to date.
Musically, there were a few things that I was trying to explore in the song. I have never written a song with much percussive elements, so I experimented with those, for texture and depth. Also, I wanted to experiment with drive and distortion in the chorus guitars. I have always loved harmonies, so a big vocal stack in the bridge made sense to me.
I had a lot of fun writing this song, but I wish I released it earlier! I was lucky enough to record ‘Arms’ in a local music studio, which was an awesome experience, as most of my music is made in my bedroom with my laptop… In the future, I would love to have a 5 track EP, chronicling my emotion experiences with the world as a young person.
